Networking

As a member of the WCRP/Religions for Peace network spanning over 90 countries, Religions for Peace Japan works in collaboration with diverse religious leaders and faith communities both in Japan and abroad, engaging in dialogue and partnership to address global challenges. In addition to religious communities, we build networks and cooperate with United Nations agencies, NGOs, NPOs, as well as the political, academic, and business sectors.

International Network

Religions for Peace Japan works in close cooperation with the WCRP/Religions for Peace International, Asian Conference of Religions for Peace /Religions for Peace Asia (ACRP) covering the Asia and the pacific region, and national chapters (Inter-Religious Council) in over 90 countries worldwide.
In particular, we actively engage in dialogue and exchange with the Korean Conference of Religions for Peace (KCRP) and the China Committee on Religion and Peace (CCRP) in the Northeast Asia region.
We also host the Tokyo Peace Roundtable, inviting religious leaders from conflict-affected regions—such as Ukraine, Russia, Palestine, Israel, as well as countries in Africa and South America—to Japan to foster dialogue aimed at peacebuilding.

Proposals & Declarations

At the WCRP/Religions for Peace World Assemblies and ACRP Governance Assemblies, which are convened every 5 to 7 years, we adopt joint declarations that embody the collective commitment of diverse religious communities. Based on these declarations, we actively engage in advocacy, awareness-raising, and concrete actions to inspire both faith communities and wider society to work toward peace and the resolution of pressing global issues.

Learning & Seminars

Since 2009, we have co-hosted an annual seminar with the Interreligious Peace Council of Korea (IPCR), bringing together religious leaders and scholars from Japan, China, and Korea to exchange ideas on building a Northeast Asian Peace Community.

In 2024, in partnership with the Pontifical Academy for Life, the Abu Dhabi Peace Forum, and the Chief Rabbinate of Israel for Interreligious Affairs, we held the international conference “AI Ethics for Peace: World Religions commit to the Rome Call” in Hiroshima.

Humanitarian Assistance

Through WCRP/Religions for Peace network, we provide humanitarian support such as food and hygiene supplies to vulnerable communities in Myanmar, assistance for Ukrainian refugees, and aid for those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria and Myanmar. We also participate in the flagship projects of Religions for Peace Asia (ACRP), working together on initiatives to prevent human trafficking, promote peacebuilding, and address the climate crisis.
